Phyllis Jean (Forbes) Plants

Phyllis Jean (Forbes) Plants, 84, of Winfield, WV, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Angel Avenue Assisted Living, Hurricane, WV. She was born July 25, 1930 in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Joseph Wesley Forbes and Opal Pauline (Love) Forbes. Phyllis was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1949 and had worked for C & P and A T & T Phone Companies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Patrick "Bill" Forbes. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Duane L. Plants of Winfield; one daughter, Barbara Haddad of St. Albans; two grandchildren, Griffin Matthew (Morgann) Haddad of Moundsville and Erin Christine Haddad (Will) Smith of Morgantown; four great grandchildren, Wyatt Haddad, Evey Belle Haddad, Jackson Smith, and Blair Smith; two brothers, Joseph H. "Joe" (Bev) Forbes of Point Pleasant and Cliff Wolff of Homer, AK; and sister, Lavon (Tommy) Thompson of Proctorville, OH. A graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Joe Hammack officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service at the graveside. The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation to Pam Dolan and staff of Angel Avenue Assisted Living in Hurricane and the Kanawha Hospice team of Heather Patton and Melissa Hill for their kindness and exceptional care and compassion shown to our wife and mother during her illness.
