It is with heavy hearts, we announce that Paula Lee Sullivan, 64, of Point Pleasant, W.V., departed from this earth. Entering into the gates of Heaven to the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Paula endured a 17-month battle with liver cancer and passed away peacefully at Holzer Medical Center on Tuesday April 22, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Paula was born April 3, 1961, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallia County, OH. A daughter to the late Herbert Bruce Chadwick (11/30/1916-11/1/1996) and Maudie Lee Chadwick (07/09/1923-10/24/2012).
She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1979. She immediately began working at Pleasant Valley Hospital as a nursing assistant. She worked there for 15 years. She then went to work at Holzer Meigs Clinic in Meigs County, OH, where she remained for the next 18 years. While there she obtained her RMA. She would continue her career with Holzer at the 850 building until she could no longer work due to her health. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pomeroy, OH, and was a dedicated Christian, serving Jesus for many years.
Paula always cherished time with her family, kids and grandchildren. She loved her precious dogs, Rudy and Tillie. Paula was also very active in crocheting blankets and always enjoyed decorating and baking during the holidays.
Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Maudie Chadwick; her brother, Brucie Chadwick; and her mother-in-law, Shirley Mayo.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Richard Sullivan; her sons, Cory (Lindsey) Sullivan of Circleville, OH, and Ryan (Makenzie) Sullivan of Point Pleasant, WV; and her sister, Brucella Wandling of Point Pleasant, WV. Paula was a proud grandmother to Tucker, Colby, Luke, Finnley, and Brixley. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pomeroy, OH at 11am with burial afterwards at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday April 24, 2025, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, from 6-8pm. Officiating Services will be Father Mark Moore, and her son Pastor Cory Sullivan.
The Sullivan Family would like to extend special thanks to Holzer Center for Cancer Care, all the nurses with Holzer Hospital 4 West and Holzer Hospice. Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
