Paul Francis Riggs

Paul F. Riggs, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2011 at Lakin Hospital, West Columbia, WV. Paul was born on November 13, 1928 to the late Francis F. and Montoria L. (Hinzman) Riggs in Jackson County, WV. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed fishing and researching his family history. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jack, Blaine, and Kenneth; two sisters, Edna Reitmire and Mary Trice; two sons, Phillip and Bruce; two wives, Beryl and Anita; one granddaughter, Diana Riggs; and a special niece, Pam Gordon. Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia Riggs of Dade City, Florida; two sisters, Helen Grimm of New Haven, and Rosalie (Charlie) Kearns of Hartford; special sister-in-law, Delores Riggs of Letart; sister-in-law, Gladys Riggs, West Columbia; four sons, Darrell (Ginger) Riggs of Belvidere, IL, Larry (Deborah) Riggs of Rockford, IL, Paul Jr. (Beverly) Riggs of Dallas, TX, and Edward Riggs of Royse City, TX; five daughters, Cinda (Robin) Kleppetsch of Sycamore, IL, Cheryl Riggs of Cortland, IL, Pauletta (Terry) Bement of Freeport, IL, Janet Riggs of Dallas, TX and Rhonda Gorter of Chicago, IL; 24 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Pastor Mike Finnicum, Reverend Charles R. Kearns, Jr., Lakin Hospital staff, Richard Green and the Wilcoxen Funeral Home, for all of your care and kindness. A graveside service and burial will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11 a.m., at the Graham Cemetery in New Haven, WV with Reverend Charles R. Kearns, Jr. officiating.
