Paul Joseph Leport, 64 of Point Pleasant, WV died Friday, March 7, 2008 unexpectedly at his home in Point Pleasant. He was born July 18, 1943 in Point Pleasant to the late Willie Leport and Martha Sue (Burns) Leport. Paul was an employee of the Philip Sporn Plant in New Haven, WV, a former employee of the Malleable Iron Co., and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Point Pleasant, attended the Berean Baptist Church in Point Plesant and was a member of the Moose Lodge #731 of Point Pleasant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anita Rose "Rusty" Leport; three brothers, William Leport, Jr., Howard Thomas Leport, and Charles Edward Leport; one infant sister; and one nephew, Charles Robert Leport. Surviving are his wife, Alice Faye (DeWitt) Leport of Point Pleasant; a son, John Paul (Cheryl) Leport of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a stepson, Lance Franklin Tilghman of Snow Hill, NC; a stepdaughter, Lacey Tilghman (Rob) Brockway of Snow Hill, NC; a brother, Robert E. Leport of Charleston, WV; two grandchildren, Jacqueline and Jonathan Leport of Sioux Falls, SD; and two step grandchildren, Austin and Kaylee Brockway of Snow Hill, NC; and one niece, Lois (Curtis) Riffle of Point Pleasant; and several great nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
