Paul Douglas "Doug" Hudson

Paul Douglas "Doug" Hudson, 78, of Southside, WV, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at home. He was born October 9, 1942, in Nitro, WV, a son of the late Paul William Hudson and Frances Marie (VanSickle) Hudson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Jean Bowles. Doug was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1962, attended Harmony Baptist Church and was a farmer working on various farms in Southside. He is survived by his wife, Nellie M. (Hoschar) Hudson, whom he married July 10, 1991; two sons, Jeff (Tammy) Hudson of Southside and Nathan Derenberger of Hartford, WV; grandchildren, Jessica (Matthew) Carlisle of Wilson, NC, Logan Hudson of Norfolk, VA, Hope Derenberger of Southside, Noah Derenberger of Southside, Paisley Derenberger of Hartford and Lacie Derenberger of Hartford; and one great-grandson, Dylan Carlisle of Wilson, NC. He also is survived by a brother, Roger (Mary) Hudson of California; and two sisters, Cleo Cerquettini and Cheryl (Gary) Matheny of Leon. A graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Sunday, January 10, 2021, at the Harmony Cemetery in Southside, with Pastor Roger Bonecutter officiating. Social distancing will be observed and face masks are required. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
