Patricia Ann Lee, 94, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Born September 3, 1930, she was a 1948 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, where she was one of the first majorettes. She married the love of her life Robert “Bob” Lee on April 25, 1953. She was widowed on January 3, 1971, and spent many years raising their two young daughters with the help of faith, family and friends.
In addition to raising her daughters, she was an operator for the C&P Telephone Company, a receptionist for Dr. Jack Buxton, Optometrist, and the long-time switchboard operator at Citizens National Bank (now Peoples Bank) in Point Pleasant. She was a member of Heights United Methodist Church, the Mason County Extension Homemakers and the Point Pleasant Division of the American Heart Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barto L. and Clara “Ruth” (Love) Durst; a brother, Barto Durst, Jr.; her husband, Robert “Bob” Lee; her long-time companion, James “J.D.” Taylor, and his daughter Jennifer Taylor whom she thought of as one of her own.
Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Mala Bumgardner of St. Albans, WV and Kyla (Jim) Carpenter of Gallipolis, OH; and one daughter-by-choice, Allison Taylor of Fayetteville, WV; five grandchildren, Nicholas Bumgardner, Kenton Bumgardner, Derek Bumgardner, Chadd (Hannah) Carpenter and Logan (Kennedy) Carpenter; three great-grandchildren, Cohen Ennis, Max Carpenter and Arya Carpenter; a brother, Jackie Durst of Syracuse, OH; and several special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Jean Bevin and Joyce Roberts, two very special caregivers who filled her final months with joy, laughter, and love.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Chaplin Joyce Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday at the funeral home.
