Norman D. Lieving, 87, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at home. He was born March 13, 1929, in Graham Station, a son of the late Carl Leland Lieving and Verna Lucille (Edwards) Lieving. During his working career Norman co-owned Lieving Plumbing and Heating in Point Pleasant, taught heating and ventilation at the Mason County Vocational Center and farmed for 50 years. Norman was a private airplane pilot for 60 years, held lifetime memberships at the Point Pleasant River Museum, American Angus Association and was a long time member of the NRA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Cleo Birchfield Lieving; one brother, Leland Lieving; and two sisters, Dorotha Gray and Margaret Brewer. Norman is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Lieving of Point Pleasant and Linda Lieving of Point Pleasant; four grandchildren, James (Kelly Nicole) Pflaum of Raleigh, NC, Nathan (Marci Everett) Pflaum of Pflugerville, TX, Kelly (Robert) Thompson of Raleigh, NC and Katie (Ryan) Davidson of Branchland, WV; great-grandchildren, Robbie Thompson, Grace Pflaum, Miles Davidson, Leo Pflaum and Baby Thompson due this summer. He is also survived by his sister Barbara (Bill) Wood of Point Pleasant; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. A graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at New Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Jim Kelly officiating.
