Nina M. Vaughan

Nina M. Vaughan, 91, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at her home. She was born April 29, 1930, in Gallipolis Ferry, WV, a daughter of the late William H. Mathews and Alice M. (Gardner) Mathews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene D. Vaughan; and a sister, Louise A. Musgrave. Nina was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Point Pleasant.She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1946, where she was salutatorian of her class.Nina was a retired secretary with 22 yrs. service from the Mason County Board of Education, a Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and a member of the Point Pleasant Chapter 75 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda J. Vaughan of Point Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, William A. "Art" and Dreama Vaughan of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Bray of Hamilton, VA, Mark Macura of Houston, TX, Paige (Nader) Jarun of Jacksonville, FL, and Will (Niroska) Vaughan of Vero Beach, FL; two great-grandchildren, Evan Bray and Micah Bray of Hamilton, VA; and a nephew, Matt (Lisa) Musgrave of Point Pleasant. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2021, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor David Grigsby officiating.Burial will follow in the New Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Sunday at the funeral home.Social distancing will be observed and face masks are required.
