Mildred Marie Campion, 92, of Point Pleasant died Friday, July 24, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 18, 1922, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Charles Franklin Wamsley and Bessie (Brown) Wamsley. Mildred was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant where she taught Sunday School for over 27 years. She graduated from Point Pleasant High School Class of 1941 and retired with 37 years service from the Goodyear Plant, as an accountant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John D. Wamsley; one sister, Christine Lanier; and four brothers, Robert, Dale, Frank, and Clarence Wamsley. She is survived by her husband, James Edward "Ed" Campion of Point Pleasant; a son, Gary Wamsley of Pacific, MO; one grandson, Rock D. (Kristen) Wamsley of St. Louis, MO; two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Max Wamsley of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Josephine Taylor of Point Pleasant; and a brother, Chester (Ival) Wamsley of Point Pleasant. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Jim Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday and two hours prior to the funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home.
