Michael Joe Hively

Michael Joe Hively, 60, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Rivers Health in Point Pleasant.

He was born November 19, 1963, in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Clarence Hively and Helen (Burns) Hively.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Joe "Joey" Hively; and three sisters, Debbie Kay Holmes, Millie Withrow and Lucille Hively.

Michael was a second dad to many and opened his home to all.  During his working years, he was a self-employed construction worker.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Betty Sue (Schwartz) Hively of Point Pleasant; son, Ronald "Ron" (Koah) Hively of Point Pleasant; stepchildren, Little Ronnie (Nikki) Hunter of Point Pleasant, Eddie (Kayla Deweese) Hunter of Point Pleasant, Lloyd Smith of Point Pleasant, Bridget Hunter of Point Pleasant and Brianna Buffington of Jackson, OH.  He is also survived by brothers, Clarence "Bub" (Pam) Hively of Fraziers Bottom, WV, Roy (Annette) Hively of St. Albans, WV, Glen (Tammy) Hively of Leon and Ron (Connie) Byus of Point Pleasant; sisters, Helen (Roscoe) Hall of Point Pleasant, Lina (Dennis) Milam of Point Pleasant and Sylvia (Bob) Goodwin of Nitro, WV; 28 grandchildren and one on the way; and multiple nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant from 1-3 p.m.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
