Merle F. Minton

Merle F. Minton, 93, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, with her family at her side at Pleasant Valley Hospital. Merle was a homemaker, wife and mother of three sons. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Point Pleasant, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. During World War II, she worked at the TNT Plant, and later worked for Fruth Pharmacy. She was born October 25, 1915, in Ross County, Ohio, a daughter of the late C.E. and Rosa Fout. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wylye; a son, Nial; brother, Langley Fout; sister, Laura Allen; and a daughter-in-law, Lovea Lee Minton. She is survived by two sons, Cecil (Nancy) Minton of Point Pleasant, and Gary Minton of Gallipolis, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Diana (Greg) Johnson of Monett, MO, Julie Roberts of Charleston, Ellen (Tim) Potter of Point Pleasant, Jay (Susie) Minton of Huber Heights, OH, Brad (Tami) Minton of Morgantown, WV, Jason (Misty) Minton of Walker, LA, and Trenia (Brandon) Twyman of Ewington, OH; 15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. In additon to her family, she is survived by two special friends and caregivers, Anita Turner and Renee Plants. A graveside service for family will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, with Father Hage officiating. There will be no visitation.
