Mary Elizabeth Jordan, 91, of Ashton, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born December 24, 1926, in Ashton, a daughter of the late Russell Carl Sturgeon and Opal Elizabeth (Finley) Sturgeon. Mary was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Fraziers Bottom. She was a homemaker and graduate of Hannan High School Class of 1945. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Jordan; a daughter, Bonnie Jordan; one son, John Clinton Jordan; two sisters, Irene Dixon and Kathryn Dalton; three brothers, Sammie, Kenneth and William Sturgeon; and a son-in-law, Ervin Conard. She is survived by four daughters, Janet Conard of Glenwood, Karen Jordan of Ashton, Connie (Daniel) Harbour of Fraziers Bottom and Kelly (Richie) McCarty of Apple Grove; two sons, Gene (Carol) Jordan of Ashton and Dean (Sue) Jordan of Apple Grove; two sisters, Helen Edmonds and Marjorie Alford both of Ashton; and a brother, Lee (Beverly) Sturgeon of Guyandotte. She also survived by nine grandchildren, Sarah (Jerry) Adkins, Chad (Linda) Conard, Amy (Thomas) Hively, Jessica (Nick) Fisher, Jordan (Ashley) McCarty, Dustin Jordan, Taylor Jordan, Todd Deal and Jayme (Stephanie) Deal; 14 great-grandchildren, Melissa, Dylan, Tiffany, Nathan, Jenni, Jessi, Brandon, Wyatt, Megan, Cole, Gavyn, Jaylyn, Emily, Kynley; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kylie and Easton. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Bob Johnson and Pastor Chuck Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fraziers Bottom. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Friday at the funeral home.The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Robert Turner, Dr. Frank Rivas and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.
