Marjorie Joan Higginbotham

Marjorie Joan Higginbotham, 89, of Southside, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at home.

She was born September 5, 1934, in Southside, a daughter of the late William Maywood "Tobe" VanSickle and Goldia Mae (Dowell) VanSickle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold "Ray" Higginbotham; and sisters, Maxine Hysell, Shirley Hudson, Deloris "Dee Dee" VanSickle and Peggy Kinnard

Joan was a homemaker and member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deana and John Hill of Southside; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Patty Higginbotham of Gallipolis Ferry; brother, Phil VanSickle of Southside; grandchildren, Amy Clark, Chad (Chatel) Casto, Brett Higginbotham and Byron Higginbotham; and great grandchildren, Vannessa Clark, Christopher Casto, Samantha Higginbotham, Michael Higginbotham and Allie Casto.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Beech Hill Cemetery in Southside, with Pastor David Radcliff officiating.  Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
