Marilyn Ann (Hill) Cheesebrew, 68, of Point Pleasant, WV, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Pleasant Valley Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born November 25, 1954, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Henry "Bee" Hill and Mary Agnes Morris Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years and the love of her life, Richard "Rick" Cheesebrew; brother, Henry "Sonny" Hill; sister, Nita Simmons; nephew Joey Gibbs; and Rick's parents, John and Pearl Cheesebrew.
Marilyn was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1973 and continued to stay close with classmates, attending as many class reunions and get-togethers as possible. She was an active member at New Hope Bible Baptist Church helping with the Clothing Ministry, VBS and choir. She retired from Robbins Myers/ElectroCraft in Gallipolis, OH after 43 years, but continued her friendship with co-workers attending monthly gatherings.
She is survived by siblings, Wilma (Frank) Caldwell of Bidwell, OH, Della Thompson of Addison, OH, Rita (Dick) Shriver of Bidwell, OH, Mary (James) Kimberling of Point Pleasant, Denver (Janet) Hill of Point Pleasant, Connie (Nick) Young of Orlando, FL and Steve (Melody) Hill of Point Pleasant; and a brother-in-law, Jack (Donna) Cheesebrew of Point Pleasant.
Marilyn was lovingly known as Becky to many family members. She had two special nieces, Carla Cossin and Jenna (James) Long, with whom she and Rick spent many vacations, holidays and special occasions. She was also very thankful to her sister Mary for teaching her children, Anita (Chuck) Rabel, Rachel (Greg) Dunham and Toni Kimberling to be helpful to a widow. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
After her retirement, Marilyn was eager to get out and see the world. She enjoyed traveling and spending time soaking up the sun and sand. She was always looking for her next adventure and was often the one to initiate family trips. Some of her recent adventures included: off-roading in Aruba with her nieces Michele Mansouri, Briana Dangerfield and great nephew Gage Corriveau, she went with several family members to Riviera Maya in Mexico where she enjoyed her first yacht excursion in the Gulf of Mexico, she also visited California to visit her niece Adrienne Richards and toured Napa Valley's wine country from a limousine, and she saw San Francisco from the "70's Magic Bus". She frequently visited Cocoa Beach, Florida to spend time with her youngest sister, Connie Young. Marilyn was always ready for her next adventure and we will miss our family's ringleader tremendously!
A funeral service celebrating Marilyn's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home, with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Garrett Turley, James Long, Ryan Cossin, Gage Corriveau, Jeremy Hill and Christopher Hill, and honorary pallbearers Eddie Swisher and Randy Finney.
