Margie E. Messick

Margie E. Messick, 92, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Holzer Senior Care Center in Bidwell, OH.

She was born May 25, 1931, in Gallipolis, OH, a daughter of the late Carl Clonch and Gladys Faye (Pearson) Clonch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Messick; and sister, Violet Cofer.

Margie was a member of Wyoma Pentecostal Church at Gallipolis Ferry and retired from the Mason County Schools as a cook.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Stepp and Doug Byers of Gallipolis Ferry; one son, Robert (Bob) Messick and wife Julia of Benzonia, Michigan; grandchildren, Andrew Stepp, Trenton Messick, Ryan (Camie) Messick and Jordan (Megan) Messick; great-grandchildren, Felix Ryan, Mina Jae and Eleanore Grace Messick; a sister, Mary E. Dowell of Henderson; niece, Belinda (Jim) Wymer of Scott Depot; and special friend and caregiver, Ann Simpkins.

A private graveside service and burial will be held.  Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
