Margaret Mae Yester

Margaret M. Yester, 91, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, after an extended illness. She was born June 11, 1927, in Gallipolis Ferry, a daughter of the late Asa U. Henry and Mary Evelyn (Putney) Henry. Margaret was a member of Jordan Baptist Church in Gallipolis Ferry and retired from the Mason County Schools as a cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Yester; sisters, Mahala Jones, Yvonne Short and Emma Ann Fisher; daughter-in-law, Camaletta Yester; and son-in-law, Anthony Wallace. She is survived by a son, Joe Yester Jr. of Apple Grove; one daughter, Jacqueline (Dennis) Des-Jarlais of Apple Grove; a grandson, Anthony "Jay" and Angel Wallace of Apple Grove; one granddaughter, Camala Jo and John Simpkins of Henderson; and one great-grandson, Cash Anthony Wallace of Apple Grove. She is also survived by three sisters, Virginia Long of Gallipolis Ferry, Geraldine Adams of Gallipolis Ferry, and Maxine Johnson of Pipestone, Minnesota; a special friend Charlotte Watts; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Ron Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow at Beale Cemetery in Apple Grove. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Saturday at the funeral home.
