Margaret Mae Cantrell, 77, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at her home. She was a homemaker, a survivor of the Silver Bridge Disaster, and former employee of the Mason County Action Group for 30 years. Margaret was born June 21, 1932, in Point Pleasant, daughter of the late William and Francis Elizabeth (Carpenter) Garvin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Aaron Cantrell; and brother, Wendy Garvin. Surviving is her children, Sue (Roy) Martin of Gallipolis Ferry, Dora (Dave) Long of Waverly, OH, David (Mary) Cantrell of Lafayette, TN, Juanita (Bob) Hanning of Gallipolis, Terry (Brenda) Cantrell of Point Pleasant, Nancy Cantrell and Fred Cooper of Leon, Keith (Jean) Cantrell of Point Pleasant, Linda Parsons of Point Pleasant, and Brenda Woods of Point Pleasant; three sisters, Elaine (Gene) Maton of Columbus, OH, Hilda Hunt of Gallipolis, and Kerma K. Hunt of Jacksonville, FL; five brothers, Eugene Garvin of Tennessee, Clinton (Betty) Garvin of Leon, Raleigh (Irene) Garvin of Pomeroy, OH, Bobby (Phyllis) Henry of Tennessee, and Kenneth (Dale) Garvin of Tennessee; 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Pastor Isaiah Crump officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery at Letart.
