Mamie June Hicks

Mamie June Hicks, 84, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the home of her son in Circleville, OH. She was born June 4, 1930, in Cabin Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Carlos Crawford and Mamie Ethyl (Morris) Crawford. June was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 75 in Point Pleasant. She operated her own daycare center in her home for 30 years and taught Weight Watchers classes for many years. She was a graduate of Eastbank High School Class of 1948. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Hicks; two sons, Brian E. Hicks and Carl E. Hicks II; two sisters, Lorene Crawford and Doris Scarbrough; and two brothers, Carlos and Harry Crawford. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey C. and Harriet Hicks of Circleville, OH; five grandchildren, Jacob Hicks, Ashley Renee Valentine (Nick), Taylor Hicks, Chris Haye (Erin) and Sherry Eagle (Josh); eight great grandchildren, Maddilyn Valentine, Emmy Eagle, Sophia Hicks, Talon Eagle, Molly Haye, Ayden Kimes, Dylan Haye and Skylin Haye; and one sister, Judy Crawford of Montgomery, WV. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Main Street Baptist Church in Point Pleasant, with Dr. Richard Sargent officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
