Madge Lee Gordon

Madge Lee Gordon, 89, of Leon, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Arbors at Gallipolis. She was born December 14, 1921 in Boomer, WV, a daughter of the late Nellie (Nunley) Gordon. Madge was a retired Mason County Schools employee where she worked as custodian for Leon Elementary School for many years. She was also a member of Leon Community Church and church secretary for numerous years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dencil Gordon; two daughters, Frances Thornton and Patricia Gordon; and one son Donald W. Gordon. She is survived by four daughters, Ellen (Leonard) McDaniel, Dottie Casto, and Alice Hatcher all of Leon; and Reba Gordon of Gallipolis, OH; two sons, James Gordon of Pomeroy, OH, and Ray (Helen) Gordon of Leon; 22 grandchildren; 27 great granchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Pete Cobb officiating.
