Mabel Morse

Mabel S. Morse, 90, of Point Pleasant died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born May 1, 1920 in Prince, WV, a daughter of the late Ola Ernest Smith and Nellie (Kincaid) Smith. Mabel was a graduate of Nutall High School in Lookout, WV, and Hinton Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1944. She was a registered nurse and former employee of the C & O Hospital in Huntington, WV and Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Morse; four brothers, James, Sherman, Charles, and Arnold Smith; and one sister, Thelma Smith. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen L. and Opal (Rose) Morse of Point Pleasant; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and George Oakie Faudree of Franklin, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Paul Faudree of Pickerington, Ohio, Jessica Morse of Point Pleasant, and Wendy Vaughan of Point Pleasant; four great grandchildren, Alexandria Armstrong of Point Pleasant, Elizabeth Eads and Emily Eads of Gallipolis, and Milo Thornton of Point Pleasant; one brother, Donald (Clella) Smith of Danese, WV; two sisters, Ruth (Tink) Kincaid of Danese, WV and Katy Jo Smith of Crab Orchard, WV; a special cousin, Velma Lou of Charleston, WV; and special friends, Donna Lambert, Luella Morgan, Jack Randolph, and Don and Wanda Tolliver; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Richard DeQuasie officiating. Burial will follow at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.wilcoxenfuneralhome.com
