Lowell Carroll Shinn

Lowell Carroll Shinn, 80, of Leon, WV, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Pike Community Hospital in Waverly, OH.He was born October 22, 1933, in Leon, a son of the late Glenna and Audrey (Jividen) Shinn. Lowell was a member of the Leon Baptist Church, served his country in the United States Navy, and was co-owner of Shinn's Tractor Sales for many years.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Herman, Byron Dayton, Donald, Clare, and Paul Shinn; and four sisters, Claudia Prunty, Bernice Graham, Faye Smith, and Reba Smith.He is survived by his wife, Patsy F. (King) Shinn of Point Pleasant, formerly of Leon; a daughter, Alisa Shinn Filkins of Leon; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Lowell Carroll Shinn Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Wheeling, WV; and six grandchildren, John W. Shinn, Paul A. Shinn, and Mary Hanna Shinn of Greensboro, NC; and Liam, Samuel and Piper Shinn of Wheeling. Also, surviving are one sister, Betty Capehart of New Haven, WV; and one brother, James Keith (Frankie) Shinn of Charleston, WV.A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Dr. John Franklin and Pastor Fred Sparks officiating.
