Lorena Frances Litchfield Young

Lorena Frances Litchfield Young, 90, of Apple Grove, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. She was born December 3, 1931, in Apple Grove, a daughter of the late Leslie J. Fooce and Goldie F. (Long) Fooce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Lewis Litchfield; sons-in-law, Howard Sharp and Gary F. Whittington; stepdaughter, Sandra F. Pyles; sisters, Wilma L. Dunn and Genevieve Fowler; and a brother, Roy Junior Fooce. Lorena was a member of the Barton Chapel Church in Apple Grove and retired from the Mason County Board of Education as a cook. She is survived by her husband, Fleming S. Young Jr. of Apple Grove; daughters, Donna Jean Sharp and Brenda Whittington of Apple Grove; stepdaughter, Carol E. Mayes of Ashton; stepsons, Luther Milton (Deloris) Young of Ashton and George Oliver (Debbie) Young of Gallipolis Ferry; and a sister, Alma J. Rainey of Apple Grove.She is also survived by granddaughters, Lisa Foley and Michelle (Robbie) McComas; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Bert) Grimm, Andrew McComas and Tyler Sharp; and great-great-grandchildren, Bennett, Mac, Taylor, Rachael and Beckham. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the Barton Chapel Church in Apple Grove, with Pastor Ronald Long and Tyler Sharp officiating.Burial will follow in the Barton Cemetery.Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
