Lillian "Sis" Fitzgerald

Lillian "Sis" Fitzgerald, 94, of Point Pleasant, WV, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born August 7, 1920, in Kaylong, WV, a daughter of the late Frank VanMatre and Myrtie May (Russell) VanMatre. Lillian was a member of Salem Community Church in West Columbia and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, S. Paul Fitzgerald; one grandson, Jon Fitzgerald Burris; two sisters, Betty Stevens and Mildred VanMatre; one brother, Norman VanMatre and two infant brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda Diane (Fitzgerald) Burris and John Vernon Burris II of Point Pleasant; one granddaughter, Lana Renee Massey of Black Mountain, NC; two great grandsons, Brayden Fitzgerald Burris of Gallipolis, OH and Jacob Nix of Black Mountain, NC; one great-great-granddaughter, Sydney Nix of Black Mountain, NC and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant with Pastor Jon Pinson officiating.
