Leona Ruth Burrows

Leona Ruth Burrows, 90, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant. She was born August 16, 1932, in Southside, WV, a daughter of the late Clyde Samuel VanSickle and Thelma M. (Williamson) VanSickle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Heyward VanSickle; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Virginia and Lloyd Roach; and a brother-in-law, John Meadows. Ruth was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School.During her working career she was employed with G.C. Murphys and retired from Fruth Pharmacy in Point Pleasant. She is survived by a son, Gary Lee Burrows of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Zachery (Shanda) Burrows of Ravenswood, WV and Mackensy (John) Rafferty of Middletown, PA; a sister, Faye Meadows of Point Pleasant; brother, Dan (Ruth Ann) VanSickle of Louisa, KY; and a sister-in-law, Patty VanSickle of Portsmouth, OH. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 11 a.m. until noon, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.A graveside service and burial will follow at Concord Cemetery in Henderson with Pastor Jody VanSickle officiating.
