Lavina "Bug" Meaige

Lavina "Bug" (Walker) Meaige, 71, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday evening, June 12, 2007 at her home. She was a homemaker, and member of the New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Point Pleasant. Lavina was born January 17, 1936 in Gallipolis Ferry, WV to the late Jessie Bennett Walker and Minnie Marie (Pearson) Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Carren Sue, Estille Burdell and Genevieve Starcher and one brother, Little Jackie Walker. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Nichols B. Meaige of Gallipolis; children Beverly Hardin of Gallipolis; Nick Meaige Jr. (Cindy) of Point Pleasant; David Meaige (Becky) of Gallipolis; Cindy Casto (Gary) of Gallipolis; Tony Meaige (Sherri) of Gallipolis; Ricky Meaige (Milinda) of Gallipolis; a sister, Anna Jean Thompson of Point Pleasant; four brothers, Garland Walker(Linda) of Point Pleasant; Donnie Walker of Henderson; Odis Walker of Gallipolis Ferry; and Chuckie Walker (Beulah) of Point Pleasant; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Burial will follow in the Jordan Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry, WV. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Rebecca Spires for the wonderful care she gave mom. Serving as pallbearers will be her children, and honorary pallbearers will be Gary Casto, Vernon Houck, Gary Casto II, Rodney Spires III, and Christopher Meaige.
