Larry Franklin Adkins

Larry Franklin "Frank" Adkins, 62, of Glenwood, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, at his home. He was born January 30, 1955, in Ashland, KY, a son of the late James E. "Jim" Adkins and Janet A. (Huff) Adkins. Frank was a graduate of Barboursville High School Class of 1973 and Marshall University. He was employed by Mattress Warehouse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-grandson, William James "Liam" Young; and a brother-in-law, Everett Black. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Gayle (Hudson) Adkins of Glenwood; two daughters, Aimee Michelle (Jeremy) Long of Glenwood and Amber Dawn (Adam) Riddle of Ashton; two step-children, Shane William (Lindsay) Young of Preston, MD and Bethany LeeAnn (Matt Woods) Young of Apple Grove; two grandchildren, Landon Mathew Long of Glenwood and Kylee Elizabeth Cottrill of Ashton; and three step-grandchildren, Sydney Grace Young and Holden Robert Young of Preston and Brantley James Woods of Apple Grove. Also surviving are one brother, James Allen (Pam) Adkins of South Point, OH; and three sisters, Sherry Lynn (David) Meadows of Ona, WV, Donna Jo (Paul) Montie of South Point, and Myra Sue Black of Ona. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Ronald Long officiating. Burial will follow at Pete Meadows Cemetery in Glenwood.
