Kenneth Hanley Jeffers, 81, of Southside, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at home. He was born October 11, 1940, in Southside, a son of the late William Clayton Jeffers and Virginia Mae (Gardner) Jeffers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Blanche (Ellis) Jeffers; a son, Kenneth Alan Jeffers; sister, Clara Belle Jeffers; and brothers, James Richard Jeffers, Harold Leroy Bailes, Charles Edward Jeffers, William Junior Jeffers and Everett Lee Jeffers. Hanley was a member of the Hambrick Church in Southside.He had been a member of the "Rocky Mountain Boys", playing bluegrass music for several years with his brothers.During his working career he was employed by Everett Wedge Construction. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Marlene (John) Clark of Southside; sons, Timothy Clayton Jeffers of Fraziers Bottomand David Eugene Jeffers of Southside; grandchildren, Willie (Carla) Jeffers, Waylon Jeffers, Melissa Clark, Angela Clark (fiancé Jason Henning), Chelsea (Jonathan) Adams, Faith Jeffers and Ashley Shamblin; great-grandchildren, Delilah Clark, Corey Wheeler, Kassidy Jeffers, Brayley Jeffers, Addie Jeffers, Austin Jeffers, Owen Jeffers and Noah Jeffers; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Kelly and Larry Hodges. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Bo Burgess officiating.Burial will follow at the Jeffers Ridge Cemetery in Southside.Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
