Kenneth Dale Cooper

Kenneth Dale Cooper, 67, of Point Pleasant, WV, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, April 11, 2015, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born November 17, 1947, in Princeton, WV, to Clarence and Martha (Hill) Cooper. Kenneth was a proud Vietnam Veteran and employee of AEP for 40 years before his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Point Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Daniel Cooper; a sister, Nancy Brown; and brother-in-law, Ron Bayes. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Elizabeth Wayne Cox Cooper; one son, Brian (Alisa) Cooper of Charlottesville, VA; a beloved daughter, Sonja (Gene) Hibshman of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Kenneth Hibshman, Erin Jones, Alex Hibshman, Matthew Cooper and Schuyler Cooper; and two great-grandchildren; Kaiden Hibshman and Cohen Thomas. Also surviving are three sisters, Georgia Bayes, Janie (Ken) Gassman and Jean Basham; a brother-in-law, Dayton Brown; and many more loving family members and friends. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Presbyterian Church in Point Pleasant, with Pastor John Holland officiating. Entombment will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton, WV where military graveside rites will be given by the West Virginia Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church Food Bank, 8th and Main Street, Point Pleasant, WV 25550 or a cancer charity of your choice.
