Keith Ray Thornton, 84, of Point Pleasant, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. He was born August 9, 1936, in Hurricane, WV, a son of the late Everett Wilson Thornton and Mary Lee (Bird) Thornton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony Wayne Thornton and Keith Ray Thornton Jr.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rosie and Lonnie Campbell. Keith was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. He was a graduate of Hurricane High School Class of 1955 and retired with 32 years service from Kaiser Aluminum. He is survived by his wife, Darlin Rosalie (White) Thornton whom he married September 15, 1957; a daughter and son-in-law, DaWanna and Michael Holley of Point Pleasant; three granddaughters, Christa Furlong of Point Pleasant, Candice (Trevor) Wayne of Huntington and Bethany McQuaid of Point Pleasant; two grandsons, Kane (Rebecca) Thornton of Perry, OH and Scott Anthony Thornton of Mooresville, NC; two great grandsons, Hunter Furlong and Aidan McQuaid of Point Pleasant; and two great granddaughters, Faith Thornton and Julie Thornton of Perry, OH. He is also survived by one sister, Norma (Billy) Thornton of Hurricane, WV; and two brothers, Vernon (Pat) Thornton of Hurricane and Phillip Thornton of Hurricane. A funeral service will be Noon Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Don Maxson officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Long Bottom, OH. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home. Social distancing will be observed and face masks are required.
