Karen L. Rorrer, 76, of Point Pleasant, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones, Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant. She was born June 5, 1942, a daughter of the late Ronald F. White and Margaret Elinor (Woodyard) White. Karen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. With a career spanning 40 years, she lovingly served the children of Mason County as a kindergarten aide at Central Elementary, North Point Elementary and Point Pleasant Primary Schools. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Rorrer; a son, Ronald William Rorrer; and a grandson, Benjamin Paul Rorrer. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Beverly Rorrer of Bellefontaine, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela S. and Michael Stearns of Leon; five grandchildren, Emily Jo Rorrer (Richard) Stevens, Charles Samuel Stearns, Ronald Abram Stearns, Thomas Emerson Rorrer and Nila Maria Rorrer; one sister, Deborah Roark of Point Pleasant; and several close friends. Karen was such a special blessing to her family and friends. Her warmth, caring, and compassion touched many other lives as well. She always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart. The family would like to express gratitude to all those who prayed, sent cards, or visited Karen during her illness. A special thanks to Dr. Ayers, his staff, and all her "girls" at PVNRC. Your extra special care will always be remembered. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Mark Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
