Juanita Marie Holton

Juanita Marie Holton, 73, of Milton, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV.

She was born January 16, 1950, in Huntington, WV, to the late Dennis Riley Sowards and Goldie Ann (Wallace) Ford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. "Eddie" Holton; and a brother, James Riley Sowards.

Juanita was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Fraziers Bottom, WV. She was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1968, a homemaker and loved to sing in the choir.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Shawn E. Holton of Milton and Jason R. and Kimberley Holton of Milton; three grandchildren, Jessa L. Holton of Washington D.C., Tanner R. Holton and Ty E. Holton of Milton; twin sister, Anita Burton of Milton; two special nieces, Tara and husband Jason Safford of Hurricane and Lisa and husband Justin Campbell of Milton; brothers and sister, Windell (Bonnie) Wallace of Ona, WV, Ellen Conley of Westwood, KY, Jim (Anna) Ford of Milton and Lonnie Ford of Barboursville; sister-in-law, Cheryl Sowards of Bluffton, IN; several additional nieces and nephews; and two special people, Justin and Haylee Meadows of Hurricane.

A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Fraziers Bottom, with Pastor Chuck Elkins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery.   The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the church.  Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
