Joshua Lee Baird

Joshua Lee Baird, 32, of Southside, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born April 5, 1983, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Gary Lee Baird and Ruthie E. (Birchfield) Baird of Southside. Josh attended College Hill Church at Gallipolis Ferry and was raised in the Hambrick Church at Southside. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 2002, had worked at Constellium in Ravenswood, WV and was a member of Steelworker's Local No. 5668 of Ravenswood. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ashley Nicole Baird; maternal grandfather, Harold Birchfield; and paternal grandmother, Patricia L. Baird. He is survived by his wife, "He is the love of my life", Samantha Jo (Dabney) Baird of Southside; three children, Elijah Lee Baird, Elisabeth Faith Baird and Eriella Nicole Baird; and one brother, Travis G. Baird and fiancée Sara of Southside. Also surviving are maternal grandmother, Nancy Birchfield of Point Pleasant; paternal grandfather, Charles Lee Baird of Point Pleasant; special father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Carol Dabney of Southside; a sister-in-law, Kelsey Smith of Southside; nieces, Aleyah S. Baird and Cordellya Smith; nephew, Charlie Smith; cousin, Todd Lee Sergent; an aunt, Betty Sergent; special uncles, Rick and Ronnie Birchfield; and a host of friends. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Josh Searls and Joey Birchfield officiating. Burial will follow at the Dabney Family Cemetery in Southside. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
