Johnnie Bruce Bennett

Johnnie Bruce Bennett, 79, of Point Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at home. He was born February 14, 1943, in Sparta, TN, a son of the late John Dewey Bennett and Willie Rhea (Dillon) Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ann Bennett, Rhonda Keel, Lori Jones and Dorris Hess; a stepdaughter, Laurel Ann Lesser; and brothers-in-law, Rodney Jones and Donald Stratton. Johnnie was a graduate of Beecher High School Class of 1961 in Flint, Michigan. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 12 years, was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and retired from Pleasant Valley Hospital as a Clinical Biotech Engineer. He is survived by his wife, Marcia L. (Burnham) Bennett of Point Pleasant; stepchildren, Grant Norred Eaton of Florida, Todd Charles (Sarah) Eaton of Jordan, Shane Duncan (Tara) Eaton of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Ella Jane Stratton of Texas; sister-in-law, Beverly (John) Schilling of Wisconsin; and a brother-in-law, Arthur Hess of Michigan. A gathering of family and friends will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
