John Christopher Thompson, 41, of Point Pleasant, died Friday, September 4, 2009, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was a christian, and employed as a truck driver for Joyce Trucking in Teays Valley, WV. John was born February 28, 1968 in South Charleston, WV, the son of James E. Thompson of Red House, WV and Violet M. (Hill) Thompson of Leon, WV. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Thompson; maternal grandparents, Basil and Velma Hill; paternal grandfather, Everette Thompson; grandmother-in-law and grandfather-in-law, James and Missouri Robinson; and grandmother-in-law, Lila Leport. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Angela D. (Robinson) Thompson of Point Pleasant who he married December 10, 1990; four sons, Richie, Johnie, Jacob, and Garrett Thompson of Point Pleasant; a sister, Brenda (Gary) Keefer of Leon; five brothers, Jimmy (Susan) Thompson of Ripley, Mark (Cindy) Thompson of Ravenswood, Scott (Kim) Thompson of Leroy, Eric (Linda) Thompson of Leon, and Tyler Thompson of Red House; stepmother, Tonya Thompson of Red House; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Patricia Robinson of Henderson; paternal grandmother, Mary Christie of Point Pleasant; grandfather-in-law, Ernest "Jr" Leport of Henderson; brother-in-law, Kevin (Jeanie) Hickman of Point Pleasant; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery.
