Captain John L. Reynolds Sr., 73 of Point Pleasant went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, December 31, 2006 at his home. John was a member of the Church of Christ, the Minturn Lodge #19 A.F. & A. M. of Point Pleasant and other various local organizations. He was recognized by the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers and the U. S. Coast Guard for his many contributions and dedication to the Marine Industry, which he received many commendations. In December of 2003, the AEP River Transportation honored John with naming one of their boats "The Captain John L. Reynolds.". John was born February 14, 1933 on the "Majestic" in Point Pleasant to the late Capt. Thomas Jefferson Reynolds, Sr. and Garnett Virginia "Neal" Reynolds. In additon to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Allen Reynolds; five brothers, Roy B., Marion, Thomas Jefferson, Norman, and Carl "Jack" Reynolds, three sisters, Margaret, Hazel and Catherine. He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Parsons) Reynolds whom he married January 1953, two sons and daughter-in-law, John L. and Valerie Reynolds of Point Pleasant; and David Brian Reynolds of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, a sister, Ruth Meaige of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Henderson Church of Christ with Minister Eugene Zopp officiating. There will be no visitation.
