John Douglas Krimm, 83, of Gallipolis Ferry, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Doctors Hospital, in Sarasota, FL. He was born November 5, 1933, in Clifton Forge, VA, a son of the late Frank Nicholas Krimm and Lucy (Via) Krimm. John is a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant. He served his country in the United States Army and retired as a Master Sergeant. During his military career he had advance training in bomb demolition. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther, Edith, Mary and Ruth; and two brothers, Richard and Leo. John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline (Collins) Krimm of Gallipolis Ferry; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jay Allen Krimm of Orlando, FL and Paul Douglas and Renee Krimm of Huntington, WV; a daughter and son-in-law, Ava and Richard Krogmann of Vienna, VA. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara (Sonny) Norvell of Clifton Forge, VA and Margaret Frances of Clifton Forge, VA; six grandchildren, Summer, Meg, Brittany, Jason, Rick Jr. and James; and six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Meadow, Mina, Ocean, Bradley and Ryan. A funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Prakash Sebastian officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Military graveside rites will be given by the West Virginia Army Honor Guard.
