John David Campbell

John David Campbell, 48, passed away at his home Wednesday, March 14, 2018, after a long hard battle with depression.He was born June 10, 1969, the son of John W. Campbell Jr. and Rachel (Nick) Nelson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV.David was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1987 and Marshall University where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees. He was a former health and safety coordinator for McCarthey Construction.He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Worthy Pearson and Mr. and Mrs. John W. Campbell Sr.; cousins, Billy Dale Carr and Craig Lee Campbell; uncle, Freemont Pearson; and aunt Dolly Carr.In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Shelley and brother-in-law and friend Todd Spradling and a niece that lit up his life, Gracie Spradling all of Lexington, SC; and many cousins, two that were like brothers to him, Chris Kinnaird and Greg Kinnaird.David's battle is over and he is at peace with the Lord Jesus.A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Dean Warner and Pastor Mel Mock officiating. Burial will follow at the Apple Grove Memorial Gardens in Apple Grove. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Saturday at the funeral home.
