John William Burdette

John William Burdette Jr., 53, of Leon, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. He was born May 28, 1968, in Gallipolis, OH, the son of the late John William Burdette Sr. and Wanda Marie (Livingston) Burdette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special uncle, Kenny "Big Daddy" Livingston. John was a member of the Leon Baptist Church in Leon.He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1986, WVU Tech Class of 1990 and Marshall University Class of 1994.He was employed as an electrical engineer for Kureha of Belle, WV. He is survived by his wife of 24 yrs, Misty K. (Powell) Burdette of Leon; a son, Japheth M. (Amee) Burdette of Leon; daughters, Sarah M. Burdette of Hurricane and Sydney "Paige" (Dylan Plumley) Burdette of Hurricane; one grandson, Japheth Owen Burdette of Leon; and a sister, Amy (Howard) Mullins of Point Pleasant and their daughter Rileigh. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Fred Sparks officiating.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Following the funeral service there will be a Celebration of Life dinner at the Leon Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
