Joey A. Roberts

Joey A. Roberts, 60, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. He was born April 11, 1957, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late George O. Roberts and Betty A. (Smith) Roberts. Joey loved the outdoors, hunting, riding his Harley and the West Virginia Mountaineers. He doted on his grandchildren, never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was always ready for a good time and a good laugh and loved and lived life to the fullest. Joey was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1975. He was a member of Minturn Lodge 19 A.F. & A.M. of Point Pleasant, Loyal Order of Moose , American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant and the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 521 of Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Addie M. Roberts of Gallipolis Ferry; a daughter, Melissa J. (Chris) Barnett of Point Pleasant; son, Shad (Shana) Roberts of Gallipolis Ferry; stepdaughter, Amy (Jack L.) Grady of Leon; stepson, Jamie Doss of Charleston; and eleven grandchildren, Bailey Barnett, Gavin Barnett, Delaney Roberts, Jake Roberts, Rhett Grady, Eastyn Grady, Chesney Grady, Haydn Doss, Xander Doss, Ashton Doss, and Rowan Doss. He is also survived by one sister, Tammy J. (Sam) Queen of Gallipolis, OH; two brothers, Ricky L. (Drema) Roberts of Gallipolis Ferry and Tim D. (Debbie) Roberts of Gallipolis Ferry; mother-in-law, Wanda Siders Jordan; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends. A private graveside service will be Sunday, November 26, 2017, with Tim Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Roberts Family Cemetery at Gallipolis Ferry. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
