Joe William Hatfield, 59, of Gallipolis Ferry, went home to be with his Lord Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his farm.
He was born February 6, 1965, in Gallipolis Ferry, a son of the late William "Bud" Hatfield and Virginia (Rainey) Hatfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nikki Ann Hatfield; and brothers, Michael L. Hatfield and Jeffrey L. Hatfield.
Joe attended Pleasant View Church in Gallipolis Ferry. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1983, a member of the USW Local 859L and a chemical operator at ICL-IP America Inc. in Gallipolis Ferry.
Joe had a passion for farming and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren on the farm.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. (Damron) Hatfield, whom he married November 11, 2023; daughters, Megan (Blake) Patterson of Ashton, Erin (Jesse) Thompson of Cheshire, OH and Allison (Cody) McCoy of Gallipolis Ferry; stepsons, Sawyer Atkinson of Gallipolis Ferry, Jacob Hatfield of Gallipolis, OH and Joshua Hatfield of Gallipolis, OH; sister, Anita (Matt) Evans of Gallipolis, OH; brothers, Rex (Becky) Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry and John Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Brooks Patterson, Virginia Patterson, Clay Thompson, Bo Thompson, Abel McCoy and Maelynn McCoy. He is also survived by, sisters-in-law, Kay Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry and Sharon Hatfield of Kentucky; mother-in-law, Vickie Damron of Gallipolis, OH; and his beloved dog Mishka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mason County Fair, (feeder calf barn), P. O. Box 334, Point Pleasant, WV 25550.
A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at the Faith Gospel Church, 500 Church Street, Gallipolis Ferry on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 12 noon.
A private graveside service and burial will be held at the Lewis Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry Friday, March 1, 2024, with Pastor Ted Nance officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
