Joanna "Jo" L. Spencer

JoAnna "Jo" L. (Shamblin) Spencer, 82, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center in Point Pleasant.

She was born March 4, 1942, in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Okey Phillip Shamblin and Loraine Hilda (Coutz) Shamblin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Randolph Spencer; a son, Wyatt Lloyd Akers; a daughter, Jessica Lee "Gurdie" Harris; two grandsons, Raymond Lloyd Akers and Elijah Mowrey; and a brother, Thomas Phillip Shamblin.

Jo was a retired cook from Mason County Schools.

She is survived by a son, Troy Akers of Hinton, WV; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Dr. Jered Green officiating. Private burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
