Janice Jeanette Poar

Janice Jeanette Poar, 87, of Chester, OH, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, at home.

She was born February 14, 1937, in Chester, a daughter of the late James B. Bailey and Verda (Fisher) Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nora J. Lanham.

Janice was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1955 and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Paul Allen Poar of Chester; daughters, Pamela J. Lanham of Gallipolis, OH and Brenda L. English of Canal Winchester, OH; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Don Combs officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mount Herman Cemetery in Pomeroy, OH.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home.
