Jan Loomis, 61, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. She was born November 8, 1959, in Gallipolis, OH, a daughter of the late Brycle Paul Stephens and Anna Lee (Mayes) Stephens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant siblings. Jan was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ in Henderson.She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1977 and a former manager of the Point Pleasant Dairy Queen where she had worked for 40 years. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Joseph S. "Joey" Loomis of Gallipolis Ferry; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Paul and Jenni Loomis of Rio Grande, OH and Shane Allen and Leticia Loomis of Gallipolis Ferry; grandchildren, Brycle Loomis, Owen Loomis and Kylie Plantz; sisters, Cheryl Stephens and Joy Thomas both of Leon; a brother, Paul R. Stephens of Pomeroy, OH; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Anna Mae and Kenny Simpkins and Roy and Robin Loomis all of Gallipolis Ferry; and many good friends from the Dairy Queen. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the Henderson Church of Christ, with family friend Bill Hannum officiating.Burial will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Leon.Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
