James W. "Bo" Lilly Jr.

James W. "Bo" Lilly Jr., 80, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at home. He was born November 13, 1942, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late James W. Lilly Sr. and Jacqueline D. (McDermitt) Turney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Delores Taylor and Carolyn Lilly; and a brother, Garry Lilly. Bo was a member of the First Church of God in Point Pleasant. He was a graduate of Wahama High School Class of 1962 and a member of American Legion Post 23 and Loyal Order of Moose 731 of Point Pleasant. He retired from AEP as a riverboat pilot. He is survived by his wife, Doris Jean (Roush) Lilly of Gallipolis Ferry; goddaughter, Lindsey (Nathan) Wedge of Point Pleasant; four nieces that were like daughters, Dorinda Deem of Mason, Belinda (Roger) Clark of Pomeroy, OH, Lisa (Lee) Gangwer of Mason and Sharon Thomas of Rio Grande, OH; one sister, Linda Moore of Point Pleasant; brothers, Charles Lilly of Point Pleasant and Johnny Lilly of Barboursville, WV; and multiple nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at the Zerkle Cemetery in West Columbia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home.
