James Ray Pierce

James Ray Pierce, 75, of Pomeroy, OH, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022. He was born July 4, 1946, in Mason, WV, a son of the late Henry L. Pierce and Ruby L. (Byus) Pierce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Wartenburg; and brothers-in-law, Patrick McBride and David L. Wartenburg. James was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1964.He served his country honorably in the United States Army and retired from the Boilermakers Local No. 667 of Winfield, WV. He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue (Friend) Pierce of Pomeroy; son, James R. II (Mandy) Pierce of Point Pleasant; stepson, Chad Long of Patriot, OH; grandchildren, Haley (Stephen) Elliott, Morgan Pierce and Kaden Pierce; great-grandchildren, Tinsley Elliott and Rilynn Elliott; a sister, Sherry McBride of Gallipolis, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
