James Michael Hazelwood

James Michael "Mike" Hazelwood, 60, of Point Pleasant, passed away quietly at his home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. He was born June 25, 1956, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Grover Cleveland Hazelwood and Juanita Pearl "Sis" (Chapman) Hazelwood. Mike was a retired parts inspector with 42 years of service with GKN Sinter Metals of Gallipolis, OH. He was a 1975 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #731 of Point Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa L. (Nott) Hazelwood; and a sister, Christine Higginbotham Brown. He is survived by one step-son, Jamie Don Stewart (Nicole) of Point Pleasant; one brother, Gary Chapman of Point Pleasant; three sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda Swain, Patty and Jeff Wittman and Darlene Fisher all of Point Pleasant; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Carl "Boxer" Swisher officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
