James H. Lewis, 95, of Point Pleasant, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was the son of the late Charles Harold and Mary Genevieve Lewis. Jim was a familiar face in the community working over the years for the US Corp of Engineers, Farm Credit, Citizens National Bank, starting up ERA Town & Country Real Estate, and retiring as president and CEO of Peoples Bank, Point Pleasant. He was a WWII veteran serving in Okinawa. His real passion was farming and preaching the Word of God at the Christian Brethren Church in Mason, WV and later in life the Bethel Church on Leon Baden Road, Leon, WV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora, of 71 years; sister, Naomi Bumgarner; and brothers, William (Bill) Lewis and Charles Clement Lewis. He is survived by his children, Rebecca (Don) Lambert of Darwin, OH, James Jr. (Patricia) Lewis of Jacksonville, FL, Barbara (Stan) Bordman of Point Pleasant and Connie (John) Rottgen of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by grandchildren, Windi (Joe) Kapraun, RF (Aimee) Stein, Jamie (CJ) Youmans, Christopher (Tricia) Bordman, Chad (Kourtney) Bordman, Cam (Kara) Bordman, Robin (Corey) Muser, Jeremy (Teneil) Rottgen; great-grandchildren, Addyson, Gracyn and Weston Stein, Delaney and Cooper Youmans, Ethan, Owen and Eliza Bordman, Amelia, Sloane and Josephine Bordman, Wyatt Bordman, Jacob Brommer, Corey Jr. and Doug Muser, Jaiden and Joshua Rottgen; and a sister, Ruth Thompson of Mason, WV. A special thank you to his friend and caretaker Greg Bonecutter and Ernest "Willie" Call for being such a great neighbor to him. Graveside services were held Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the Forest Hills Cemetery, Flatrock, WV, with Pastor Brian May officiating. Due to the current Covid 19 climate funeral services were private however, a celebration of life will be held later for those who wish to remember him with us.
