James Aaron Artis

James Aaron Artis, 42, of Point Pleasant, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at home.

He was born in Parkersburg, WV.  Aaron is the son of D. James Artis of Point Pleasant and Regena A. (Hesson) Pennington and husband Bruce of New Haven, WV

Aaron was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 2000 and received a bachelor's degree from Marshall University in Huntington.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Leah S. and Sam Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry; and nephews, Mark Oliver, Cole Hatfield and Luke Hatfield.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Shirley Hesson; and paternal grandparents, Denver and Gladys Artis.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Mike Finnicum officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
