Jacqueline "Jackie" Arrington

July 11, 1930 — August 25, 2015

Jacqueline "Jackie" Arrington, age 85, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was born on July 11, 1930. Jackie was the daughter of the late Russell and Virginia Henry. She is survived by her soul mate of 67 years, Garland Arrington. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She had four children, Linda Nibert and Bobby, Mike Arrington and Kathy, David Arrington and Teenie and Jenny Taylor and Johnny. There are five grandchildren, Matthew Arrington and Tara, Milinda Richards and Shawn, Joseph Arrington and Amy, Kary Barton and Mike and Jay Arrington. The nine great grandchildren are Briar Arrington and Emily, Dylan Richards, Colton Arrington, Maggie Richards, Isabella Barton, Grant Barton, Madisyn Arrington, Eva Barton and Kylie Arrington and one great-great granddaughter, Brylee Arrington. Along with all the many, many friends, she loved spending time with her nephew Marshall "Skip" Arrington and going to dinner with her cousins, Jenny Holley, Frank Beckner, Mary Boggess, and Kathleen Mayes. Jackie loved to work. She was employed by G. C. Murphy until they closed, Point Pleasant Clinic, Pleasant Valley Nursing Care Unit, and the job that she loved the most was the Gift Shop at Holzer Hospital where she retired. On October 30, 1966, she gave her life to the Lord. Jackie was a faithful member of Faith Gospel Church, where she enjoyed being part of the Ladies Fellowship, helping at Vacation Bible School, and Friendly Fifties. She was also a member of the Wohelo Club and did lots of volunteer work throughout her life. She enjoyed all her many travels all over the United States and could always be found with her husband at the Mason County Fair. Jackie will be greatly missed by family and friends. She was known for telling her children and grandchildren "Birds of a feather, all flock together" words we will always cherish. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Faith Gospel Church in Gallipolis Ferry, with Pastor Dee Keith and Pastor Joe Hammack officiating. Burial will follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant and Saturday one hour prior to service at the church.
