Ivora Charlene Slone

Ivora Charlene Slone, 88, of Gallipolis, OH, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, in Gallipolis.

She was born August 11, 1935, in Crown City, OH, a daughter of the late Charles R. Beaver and Iva Frances (Saunders) Beaver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ethan Randall Slone; and brothers, Ronnie and Roger Beaver.

Charlene was a member of the Omega Missionary Baptist Church of Crown City.  She was a graduate of Mercerville High School Class of 1953 and retired from Gallia County Local Schools with 17 years' of service.

Charlene enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening and planting flowers and she will always be known for her smile and sarcasm. Charlene loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching sports, especially Duke Basketball.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan W. and Mia Slone of Crown City, Jeffery K. and Julia Slone of Crown City and Steve A. and Shelly Slone of Gallipolis; sisters and brothers, Keith Beaver of Springfield, OH, Barbara Randolph of Cheshire, OH, Kaye (Dave) Richards of Corpus Cristi, TX and Becky (Tom) Colburn of Bristow, VA; and grandchildren, Trevor "Gus" Slone, Chelsy (Dylan) Shockley and Andy Slone.

A private graveside service and burial will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Mercerville, OH, with Pastor Christian Scott officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
